Membership Types

The American Legion is a family welcoming veterans, their families, and supporters to unite in service, camaraderie, and community. Each membership option is vital in fulfilling the Legion’s mission, ensuring that all who have served and their loved ones are never alone. Join the American Legion Family to make a meaningful impact.

We believe in unity and equality, where titles and ranks hold no significance among us.

Legionnaires

To be a Legionnaire is to stand proudly in a tradition of service that does not end with military duty. It means carrying forward the values of honor, courage, and commitment into civilian life by supporting fellow veterans, their families, and the community. A Legionnaire is not defined by rank or branch of service, but by the shared bond of having worn the uniform and the dedication to continue serving in new ways. Whether through camaraderie, advocacy, volunteerism, or honoring the memory of those who came before us, being a Legionnaire is about belonging to a family that understands sacrifice and works tirelessly to ensure no veteran is ever forgotten.

Membership purchase option types:

Becoming a member of the American Legion is more than joining an organization—it’s becoming part of a proud tradition of service, camaraderie, and community. At Post 64, we offer flexible membership options to fit your needs, whether you prefer the simplicity of an annual membership or the lasting commitment of a Paid Up for Life (PUFL) membership. Both options ensure you stay connected to fellow veterans, gain access to valuable benefits, and continue supporting the mission of serving veterans, their families, and our community.

Family Membership Options:

Within the Legion there are also opportunities for family members to be directly involved in our mission. The American Legion is built on the idea of service and community, and that spirit extends to the families of those who have served. Currently there is only an Auxiliary Unit 64 at Post 64, and there are other ways to get involved by establishing these others opitions at the post.

Auxiliary Membership (American Legion Auxiliary – ALA)

The American Legion Auxiliary is open to spouses, mothers, daughters, sisters, and granddaughters of veterans. The ALA works alongside Legionnaires to support veterans, advocate for their needs, and strengthen communities through volunteer programs, youth outreach, and patriotic service projects.

Sons of The American Legion (SAL)

The SAL is open to male descendants of veterans. Members of the SAL support the Legion’s programs and activities, volunteer in the community, and uphold the values of service and patriotism. SAL members often work hand-in-hand with the Post, offering valuable support to local veterans and their families.

American Legion Riders (ALR)

The Riders are a group of Legionnaires, Auxiliary, and SAL members who share a passion for motorcycling and service. The ALR organizes fundraising rides, escorts veterans’ funerals, and supports patriotic events. They add a unique and spirited presence to the Post while carrying out important missions of remembrance and support.
