The Power of Presence:

You don’t need long speeches or grand gestures to make a difference. Just showing up—being present, listening, and expressing sincere appreciation—can speak volumes. When we take that time, we remind these heroes that their community still stands beside them, that their legacy continues to inspire us, and that their service will never be forgotten.

At American Legion Post 64, we hold firm to a promise:  We do not forget the sacrifices of our Vietnam Veterans, nor the sacrifices of every man and woman who has served our great nation.

Buddy Check Program

American Legion Post 64 is proud to bring back the Buddy Check Program, a vital effort to keep veterans connected and supported. The program was first introduced to our Post thanks to the dedication of Craig Annis, who recognized the importance of reaching out to fellow veterans with a simple call or visit. Craig’s leadership reminded us that sometimes the smallest gestures—a conversation, a check-in, or a moment of fellowship—can make the biggest difference in a veteran’s life.By reviving the Buddy Check Program, Post 64 is recommitting to the Legion’s core value of caring for one another beyond our time in service. It’s more than outreach—it’s a promise that no veteran will be left behind or forgotten. Members are encouraged to participate and carry forward the legacy Craig helped build, ensuring every veteran feels the camaraderie and support they deserve.
